The Ultimate List of How To Prevent (And Treat!) Colds & Flus- 7 Simple Home Remedies

These home remedies can be made quickly and easily with simple ingredients from your pantry!
1)Apple cider vinegar drink.  This is an excellent drink for adults (and kids) who are stuffy, or coughing.  It really soothes the throat and the chest. Or you can drink it daily to stay healthy. Here’s the recipe and more info:
2) Homemade cough syrup. This homemade cough syrup that is safe for kids ages 1 and older, and can be made in less than 5 minutes, with ingredients you probably already have in your pantry!
3) Garlic oil for little ones. This is good for coughs, and strengthens the overall immune system.  It’s a recipe for homemade garlic oil that you can rub on kid‘s feet, (then covering with socks) or if you use some good oil on their chest, on their chest as well.
4) Onion juice for ear infections. Onions are powerfully antibacterial (similar to garlic in that respect) and are very effective at stopping ear infections quickly! Here’s how to use them:

5) Homemade chicken stock. Homemade chicken soup isn’t referred to as “Jewish Penicillin” without good reason!  I can’t think of any food more soothing or healing for a wide variety of illnesses- from coughs, to congestion, to flus.  Chicken soup is also very healing for the digestive tract and easily digested- a perfect food when recovering from sickness.  Be sure to make your own, though, as store bought doesn’t provide really any of the healing benefits!

6) Homemade Garlic Tea. True story: A couple of years ago I made this for my husband when he was sick, and that night his breath smelled so strongly of garlic that it WOKE ME UP out of a sound sleep! lol!  So, do this when you don’t have to leave the house for a few hours!  It really works though! icon smile The Ultimate List of How To Prevent (And Treat!) Recipe: Mince 1-2 medium cloves of garlic in a garlic press into a tea ball.  Cover with 8 oz. of boiling purified or spring water and steep, covered, for 10-15 minutes.  Drink and you’ll feel less stuffy immediately!
7) Olive Oil Garlic Dip. Garlic is a natural antibiotic and is also incredible for the immune system. It also calms the spasms of the throat that can lead to coughing when sick. If a cup of garlic tea doesn’t appeal to you, this more traditional way of eating garlic might!
Mince 1-2 medium cloves (the more the better!) icon wink The Ultimate List of How To Prevent (And Treat!) It is still insanely strong, but it’s definitely tolerable with the bread and the oil.
